Chris Perez thinks Kendrick's walkoff bunt was a 'stupid play' - Big League Stew - MLB Blog - Yahoo! Sports
An interesting article on Yahoo Sports about Chris Perez thinks Kendrick's walkoff bunt was a 'stupid play'. I don't think it was a stupid play. A bunt is in the rules of the game and Chris Perez should stop whining and be upset with his infield and not that Kendrick broke an "unwritten" rule. A rule that is not written is not a rule.

Fitch leaving the Federal League not yet done deal - Canton, OH - CantonRep.com
An article in the Canton Rep had Fitch leaving the Federal League not yet done deal - Canton, OH. This is about time. I have also felt that having Fitch and Boardman in the Federal League was silly. These teams are in Youngstown. Which is too far of a drive for teams in the Stark County area to drive to Youngstown on a school night for a game. I also think it's unfair that Fitch and Boardman have to drive to Stark County for most of their games. It's unfair for those students either.

Do athletes really go to war?
I was listening to the radio driving home from my daughter's freshman volleyball game. A local football game was to be played tonight between two rival schools. The guy on the radio that is helping call the game said this is going to be a war. A war? This is a high school football game.
Why do so many people these days term sporting events as a war. I know it's probably a figure of speech. But the game is nothing like war. There are no guns, no tanks, no shooting. You are not going to the game to kill someone. In these times where we actually have real soldiers in a war in Iraq and Afghanistan, I think people need to start choosing their words a little more carefully.
